MODELLING AND CONTROL OF COMMUNICATION NETWORKS
To derive mathematical models of the different layers of the ISO/OSI protocol stack. To apply data-driven control and optimisation methods for the co-design of control algorithms and communication protocol parameters.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF EM FIELDS
The goal of the course is to have profound knowledge of basic techniques in EMF safety, have knowledge and understanding of experimental, analytical and numerical techniques to assess EMF levels, understand and explain the meaning of EMF safety and health effects, understand the fundamental concepts of EMF safety and health effects
NETWORK OPTIMIZATION
Ability to recognize and model network optimization problems as Integer Linear Programming problems. Knowledge of fundamental algorithmic techniques for solving large scale Integer Linear Programming problems. Knowledge of commercial and open source Integer Linear Programming solvers.
MEASUREMENTS FOR TELECOMMUNICATIONS
Purpose of the course is to provide the basic information regarding measurement techniques and methods for verifying the fundamental performance of a generic Telecommunication System.
COMBINATORICS AND CRIPTOGRAPHY
The course aims to provide the arithmetical and algebraic background and the basic techniques for symmetric cryptography, public-key cryptography and error correction coding.
PROPAGATION AND MODELLING OF COMMUNICATION CHANNELS
This course invites students to explore the modeling techniques of wireless communication channels, providing the necessary skills to develop and optimize the design of communication systems on the different bands currently allocated by international regulations and for various scenarios and applications currently contemplated in the standards.

Objective of the Module is to enable the students to read and understand any possible text of general and technical language, to have a clear and fluent conversation with English speaking researchers/lecturers/colleagues, as well as to summarize a text both in oral and written way, to write a short essay, informal/formal emails and a C.V.
DIGITAL ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS
The goal of this course is to focus on the Boolean logic fundamentals and its practical implications, needed to build the feasibility of modern digital electronic systems for both ICT and industrial applications.
DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS
This course aims at providing the basic elements for understanding digital information transmission techniques, adaptive receivers and channel coding.
ANTENNAS AND RF SUBSYSTEMES
