Communication technologies have evolved dramatically over recent decades. Serving data and internet traffic generated by billions of users and intelligent machines requires continuous technological evolutions. Innovative internet and wireless infrastructures will be needed to accommodate challenging use cases and novel application scenarios.
The University of L’Aquila offers a master’s degree programme in Telecommunications Engineering for students who want to become computer networking and telecommunications professionals, network engineers and information systems managers, and for those who want to know more about these fields. Our graduates can be found in international companies, such as Thales Alenia Space, Micron, and Ericsson, as well as in world-class research centers, such as University of Paris-Saclay and Royal Institute of Technology. The University of L’Aquila is partner with Cisco and our master’s programme in Telecommunications Engineering is associated to the Cisco Networking Academy. Our students are eligible for training and professional certification alongside the academic studies.
Our research and doctoral programme encompasses computer networking technologies, wireless systems, networked multimedia applications, quality of service, mobile networking, intelligent buildings, context driven information systems, and communication protocols. Most of the research work is funded through national and international research grants and supported by solid industrial cooperations.
We are actively involved in a range of public engagement programmes in schools and for the general public, to increase awareness about the importance of the telecommunications in the society.
